For A. Degen and my other Otomo-bros, here’s some scans from GENGAR GENDER GENGA, the monograph of Katsuhiro Otomo’s drawings released on the occasion of his full retrospective gallery show in Tokyo a few months back. They’re all assembled in this whole collage style you’re seeing on several of the above pages. Before you have chance to ask, no, the image vignetting on the edges isn’t some intentional Instagram “effect,” but a practical result of the fact that these pages are too damn big for my puny 8.5”x11” scanner!
